TMOTCS: UNEMERITED BLESSINGS FOR PERFECT OBEDIENCE
Many times we experience blessings far beyond our expectation because we have lived in obedience to the Lord. When the people ran out of wine at a wedding feast at Cana of Galilee, Jesus turned water to the best tasting wine when they obeyed His instructions perfectly. This was totally unexpected since the best wine was usually served at the beginning of a celebration. Mother Mary said to them; “whatever He says unto you, do it” (John 2:5). And they did so not doubting and got something beyond their best imagination.
This is a perfect example of how prompt obedience can attract an overflowing and overwhelming provision. Mere profession of faith means little or nothing without life of obedience in our relationship with Jesus Christ. Our life of obedience proves that we love Him and accept His Lordship and His control over us. Therefore as we listen to Him and obey Him, we will have access to His unlimited blessings and provisions more than we ever imagined.
When we study the Word of God and meditate in it and we are doers of His counsel, we will understand more about His perfect expectations about us as His children. When we are obedient to Him and obey His commands from the heart with sincere attitude and commitment to render pure service to accomplish His Will, He will surprise us with His great provision and His unmerited blessings. He will also keep us in His hallowed preference over others (Deut 28:1-6).
