TMOTCS: THE NATURAL PERSON!

Who is a natural person? The natural person is someone who is unregenerate and has not been born again. He lusts after and fulfils the desires of flesh and of the mind and by nature, he is a child of wrath. (Eph 2:3). The natural person hates God’s Christ and the redemption plan. He is lost, helpless and completely ruined by sin. He is under the dominion of Satan and bereft of divine reasoning. He is totally ignorant of separation of his soul from God and the spiritual death he stands to suffer.

The natural person loves sin and is dead in transgressions. He is spiritually separated from God. He walks according to the ways and standards of this world in dressing and in pleasure seeking. He is a child of disobedience with natural love and disposition to do evil conveniently. The natural person gratifies the cravings of his sinful nature and follows the thoughts and desires of his heart no matter senseless and hurtful they may be.

Finally, the natural person is separated from Christ and not saved. He is a poor wandering outcast and a spiritually displaced person without a heavenly country and home (John 14:2-3). He is not a citizen of heaven but a foreigner to the kingdom of God. He is a hopeless person physically and spiritually because he is without Christ, the only Saviour of men. (Acts 4:12). Jesus loves and wants to save the natural man from the woes of nature but only if he comes to Him in repentance. (1 Cor 2:14)
