TMOTCS: THE CHRISTIAN RAPTUROUS JOY

It is a remarkable and a wonderful thing that true Christian joy is not only unaffected by adverse circumstances, but it is actually promoted by such trials and testings of faith (James 1:2). The christian joy is Christ’s joy and to have it we must have Christ Himself. This means If we must possess His joy we must possess Him (John 17:13).

To possess rapturous joy, we must come to Jesus Christ in repentance, accept Him as the Lord and Saviour, believe in Him, trust in Him, have faith in Him, obey Him, depend on Him and always look up to Him as the author and finisher of life. We must read, search and meditate in the scriptures daily so as to know more of Him and the truth about His Lordship and benefits. This will let us know Him experientially for a rapturous and deep-down joy.

Christ\’s desire for believers is that His joy will be complete in them through the Holy Spirit because joy one of the fruits of the Spirit (Gal 5:22). He Himself was full of joy and His joy was a continual joy because of His complete submission to the Will of God His Father throughout His days on earth. When we are totally submissive to Him in sufferings, in trials or in pleasures, just doing His Will all the time, then we will have His full joy abide in us which is a continual and rapturous joy. (John 17:13; Romans 15:13)
