TMOTCS: THE BELIEVER’S ASSURED VICTORY!

The christian race is a warfare race. There is a battle to fight and win against a very powerful enemy. It is a real warfare; a literal fight against a literal enemy. It is a conflict between real antagonists. It is more and deadly than a battle against flesh and blood. It is not a battle with the human and the visible, but with the superhuman and invisible. As soldiers of God, we must fight unrelentingly a good fight until victory is achieved (2 Tim 4: 7).

The enemy is a real person. The names given to him and the actions attributed to him imply that he is a personality. He is a deceiver, liar, murderer, accuser, tempter, the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the prince of this age and the god of this world (2 Cor 4: 4). He is a powerful personality with deceptive subtlety, cunning, sinister and dangerously destructive. Who is this horrible and horrific personality? Guess What! He is no other person than Satan, the devil!

The believer cannot withstand the devil in a spiritual battle of gut in his own strength but in the strength of the Lord. To defeat satan in a battle is to put on the full armour of God and be on the offensive and not on the defensive. The believer must accept Christ’s protection offer and to always maintain a current state of salvation, be of unshaken faith in Christ, be righteous, be fervent in prayers with strict obedience to the word of God and continue to live a life of holiness daily. These are the weapons of war that will give victory to the believer over the devil.
