TMOTCS: PLEASING GOD FOR A SUCCESSFUL LIVING

The greatest ambition of everyone who knows the Lord is to strive to please Him because it is the secret of a successful living. There is nothing greater than living a life which is pleasing to God as done by Enock, Noah, Abraham, Moses and many others mentioned in the scripture; e.g. Hebrews chapter 11. Unfortunately, many people today are not willing to please God but they live to please their carnal selves.

However, nobody can please the Lord in the sinful nature of man. Therefore, the first need for pleasing the Lord is to be born again and become His child and be born of Him (1 John 3:9). Then, we must stay away from besetting sins which usually entangle the worldly christians and dedicate our lives to Him. We must be good witness of the gospel, be obedient, full of faith, be kind hearted and full of love towards others in order to please Him.

When we please God, we will receive answers to our prayers; “And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight” (1 John 3:22); the word ‘whatsoever’ covers all our needs. Our enemies will be at peace with us (Prov 16:7) and we will have power of deliverance from all evils (2 Tim 4:18). However nobody can please God in his / her own strength but by His Grace (Phil 2:13).
