TMOTCS: HARD TO UNDERSTAND BUT TRUE BIBLE REVELATIONS
Some revelations in the Bible may be hard to understand but they are true. The Bible is God’s book. He is the author and He is infinite. It is not impossible that we might not understand all His Mind and His Will except through the illumination of the Holy Spirit. All the revelations and testimonies in the scriptures are the spiritual truths, no matter how seemingly hard they are. The Ethiopian Eunuch said to Philip about the scripture, “how can I understand unless someone guides me?” (Act 8:31)
Many Old Testament prophecies which were fulfilled might be hard to understand and those that are yet to be fulfilled may be hard to believe until they come to pass. To some people, the bible account on Creation is unbelievable as scientists discredited Bible account in favour of the Big Bang Theory of the world and of man. Also, the virgin birth of Christ still remained unbelievable to some people despite all evidences concerning it in the New Testament.
Equally many may find the prophecy of the Lord’s return a difficult one to believe even when it is clearly revealed that He will come again (Heb 9:28). According to the scripture, many of the Old Testament prophecies will remain unfulfilled until Christ comes back and then they will be literally fulfilled. As the subject of Christ’s second coming is hard to understand, so also are the subjects of the Battle of Armageddon, the millennium reign, the white throne judgment, the New Heaven and the New Earth and the Eternal reign. Although it may be difficult to understand how the scripture prophecies will be fulfilled, but surely they are certain and will all come to pass.
