THE HOPE OF ETERNITY WITH CHRIST; THE BELIEVERS’ SUSTAINING STRENGTH
The Scripture says, we should not be ignorant of the promise of God concerning the dead in Christ and those who are alive and abiding in Him. While we should not sorrow about the dead in Christ as others who have no hope do, so also are the living in Christ ought not to sorrow. If we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so are we to know that not only will the Lord bring with Him the dead in Him, but also those who are alive and remain unto His coming. (1 Thess 4:13-15).
So, should rapture occur today and Christ descends from heaven with a shout of the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God, the dead in Him shall rise and then those who are alive and remain abiding. Both the dead and the living in Christ shall be caught up in the clouds to meet Him in the air and be with Him forever. Therefore, we are to comfort one another with the hope and assurance of eternal life with God after death if we remain abiding to the end. (1 Thess 4:16-18).
