THE HOLY BOOK OF GOD.
The Holy Bible is unarguably the only book of God and it is a compulsory companion to those who are desirous of making heaven. The bible is written by the inspiration of the Almighty God: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works”. (2Tim 3:16-17). Therefore the Bible is much more than a simple book. It’s a book of life which reveals the existence of the Godhead to mankind: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Through the Scripture, we know about the creation of heaven and earth, the man and woman and all other living and non-living creatures. The Bible reveals more about God Himself, His mind, His ways, His will, His precepts, and His divine plan for mankind after the fall of man in the garden of Eden. The bible is explicit about things pertaining to life and godliness, the way to salvation through Grace by Faith, different prophecies and the doctrine of heaven and hell among others.
There is no prophecy in the scripture which is of any private interpretation. “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost”. (2Peter 1:21). The bible contains 66 books by 40 authors; translated into thousands of languages more than any known book, and it is still being translated into many other native dialects. This book revealed the origin of humanity, the relationship of man with his Maker and the generations of mankind from creation to the present church age; including lots of prophecies such as the end-time happenings of wars and disasters of diverse nature. The Bible revealed there’s life after death and there are two destinations of choice – heaven or hell. The Bible survived several attempts of extinction in the past because it condemned worldliness, yet it remains the bestseller of all time as millions of copies had been printed and many are still being printed that the word of God and the gospel of heaven may circulate to all people and all nations. “The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). The holy book is in chapters and thousands of orderly verses, all without contradiction if verses are not read in isolation of others. The word of God does not contradict itself despite tens of authors used by God and the word is new every day.
The central theme of the bible is the prophecy of Christ and His cross to save mankind from the wrath of the Almighty God, which to many is foolishness. “The preaching of the cross is to them that perish, foolishness; but unto them which are saved, it is the power of God”. (1 Corinthians 1:18). The Scripture is often offensive to those who are not willing to forsake their sinful lifestyles despite being the best book that was ever put together for mankind’s joy, divine peace and perfect relationship with the Author, the Almighty God. Through the scripture, the Lord God opens up the door to His Mind so that we can know Him perfectly and His desires for us. The Bible reveals attributes of God and as we read through pages, we will realise more and more the desire and love of God to save him and preserve his soul. Although man has messed up in sins, God still offers mankind eternal Salvation through Jesus Christ His beloved Son. Reading through the scripture, we see a great deal of testimonials and praises by men and women of God, displaying and highlighting amazing attributes of God. He is good and faithful to His word and promises: “For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endures to all generations.” (Ps 100:5). There has never been any book now or in the past that ever revealed God and His Divinity to man like His Own Book, the Holy Bible. Are you in any doubt? It’s damnable to doubt the Bible, the word of God. Read it, meditate in it daily, believe it and keep it in your heart with all diligence because in it are the issues of life – prov 4:23.
