MONEY CANNOT ANSWER ALL THINGS
King Solomon the preacher and a natural man said that money answers all things! (Eccl 10:19). He also said that money was a defence against trouble (Eccl 7:12). To the natural man these statements are true because he thinks money can solve a lot of problems if not all things. The rich man knows he can buy his way out of most challenges and solve almost all problems. So, he is full of himself and trusts in riches as his defence and source of help.
Because of riches, the rich man becomes conceited in his own abilities and forgets God. He neither prays nor thinks there is any need for which to depend on God because he thinks he has acquired financial power that can save him in all situations. Unlike the poor who becomes troubled, depressed and disillusioned when faced with challenges, the rich man parades his pride and financial affluence with unabated arrogance; tempting the poor to covet or steal.
The gospel truth is that while money might proffer answers to a lot of challenges, it cannot solve all things. It is also true that the love of it is the root of all evils in the world. (1 Tim 6:10). Money can neither buy salvation of man’s soul, nor death, nor God’s judgment. So, what then is the profit of a man who gains all the wealth of this world and loses his soul since it is impossible for him to exchange money for his soul. However, neither riches nor poverty is ideal for man, he needs moderate financial success to remain in the Will of God (Prov 30:7-9).
