TMOTCS. THE PRECIOUS PROMISES OF GOD.

God has given us many great and precious promises. He is a great Giver and His greatest gift was that of His Son (John 3:16) and by Him, He has graciously given us all other things (Rom 8:32). When God makes a promise it is based upon His sovereignty, His righteousness, His holiness, His justice and His mercy. His promises are sure and when He makes a promise we can be sure He will honour it because there are no conceivable circumstances to prevent Him not to honour His promises (Num 23:19).

The promises of God are through Christ His Son. He promised us not only redemption but also eternal life; complete joy; perfect peace (Isa 26:3); forgiveness and blotting out our sin; spending eternity with Him in heaven (John 14:2-3), sufficient grace for all our needs (2 Cor 12:9), protection, security, wisdom and knowledge, promotion, job, food, marriage, deliverance from trouble, etc. God promised to supply all our needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Phil 4:19).

All the promises of God are achievable because they are clear, easy to find, easy to understand, easy to claim, easy to prove by trying them (Mal 3:10) and they are easy to learn and remember (Psa 119:11). No matter how many promises God has made, they are Yes and Amen in Christ. In other words, the promises are freely given to us and they are ours to claim. The promises will be perfectly fulfilled through knowledge of Christ and our experience in Him as the Lord and Saviour.
