CHRIST’S MISSION IN BRIEF

The mission of Jesus Christ for man is in phases, the first phase was carried out over 2,000 years ago when He came to die as a sin-sacrifice to redeem man. He reconciled man to God (2Cor 5:19,21) and established His church (Mat 16:18). By His coming and death, we were delivered from the penalty and power of sin, justified, and now being sanctified and being endued with the Spirit. He fulfilled every aspect of the first phase of His mission. And He said on the Cross “it is finished” (John 19:30).

The second phase of His mission is currently being carried out in heaven. He is appearing in the presence of God for us (Heb 9:24). He has lived on earth, atoned for our sins, died, raised from death, ascended into heaven and He is now our representative, the living Saviour, our great High Priest, our Advocate and our intercessor. He is unrelentingly praying for us to sustain us in His Father’s Grace (Heb 4:14;7:25).

The third phase is in two appearances. The first will be His appearance in the clouds to bring salvation to the saints waiting for Him (Heb 9:28). They will be raptured to escape the Antichrist reign. The second will be a physical landing to dethrone the Antichrist and put in place the millennial reign. Satan, his angels, all sinners, dead and alive, will then face final judgment and eternal destination in hell fire. Christ\’s eternal government will be inaugurated and God’s everlasting kingdom will be established worldwide.
