CALMNESS WITH THE PRINCE OF PEACE
Life in this world is stormy, distressing and even terrifying at times, but with the Prince of Peace there is calmness and every grief is abated. Jesus said, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”. (John 16:33). So, we will live a peaceful life only when we have the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, dwelling within us.
There may arise some pressure, demands, responsibilities and sometimes other situations above our control; the good news is that God can alleviate the stress in our lives. To live a trouble-free life may be difficult, the gate to godly life may be narrow, it may sometimes take walking on a tight rope to survive, even a relatively small and manageable problem may tend to grow to a full-blown crisis; all we need is to remember that God’s hands are the only safety net.
He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4). Even with the pressures and stress-inducing scenarios that come with living a life in this world, we can have calmness and quietness inside us by disciplining our mind to stay focused on God because the Lord will keep in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Him because he trusts in Him. (Isa 26:3). The Lord has not appointed us to wrath, rather He has given us His peace and leaves it with us so that we might not sorrow, be afraid nor worried. (John 14:27).
